Three nights of great music with some of London’s top swing bands and our favourite London DJs!

Friday Night:
Palace Avenue Swing

We are excited to bring back the incredible Palace Avenue Swing to Limehouse Town Hall once more! Having brought the house down at London Jump earlier this year, we can’t wait for another amazing night to kick off the London Throwdown weekender.

Palace Avenue Swing play the best in hot jazz, swing and blues from the 1930-40s, and take inspiration from the swinging small groups of this golden era such as the Count Basie Octet, Louis Armstrong All-Stars, Eddie Condon and Benny Goodman small combos – groups which were distilled down from their respective Big Bands to a rhythm section and a few key horn players out front with the sole purpose of keeping tapping. Palace Avenue are well known to dancers, and are already booked to appear at IsThereHop (Switzerland) and Swing Upon a Time (Italy) this year, with more UK and international dance events confirmed and soon to be announced!

Featuring the wonderful Cherise Adams-Burnett on vocals, and channeling the spirit of Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerlad and more, Palace Avenue Swing are guaranteed to fill the dance floor and swing out in style!

Sunday Night:
The Steve Coombe Band

The legendary Steven Coombe puts his 6-piece band together once more to sock it to the lindy hop world, big time! Playing Harlem Swing and the Hot Jazz of the 1920s and 1930s this band is guaranteed to keep you swinging out to the best social dance music around.
Trumpet player and leader of the Internationally acclaimed Shirt Tail Stompers, Steven has also led bands at Festivals in Sweden, Hungary, Italy and Spain. Expect singing, dancing and a whole lot of fun!

We are very excited to present our talented DJ team who will be spinning the decks for you!
