Volunteer for London Throwdown!


At London Throwdown we will need some help on the front desk, with the competitions and with setting up and tidying up at the end. You may be required to do any of the below:


What you’ll be doing:
– Checking people have the correct wristband for the social
– Checking people off the list and giving them a wristband if they have booked but not yet picked up their wristband
– Taking any on the night payments for party entry (if there is space)
– Directing people where to go for the dancing, coat rail, toilets, exit, etc
– Fielding any questions and noting them down for the Event Managers


What you’ll be doing:
– Helping set up/tidy away the front desk
– Helping set up/tidy away any decor items
– Helping move tables and chairs in the workshop space/dance floor
– Pick up any lost property leave it at the venue front desk
You must be physically fit for this role and able to climb up ladders and carry furniture.


What you’ll be doing:
– Checking in competitors and giving them a number and safety pins (as necessary)
– Passing on the completed check in list of competitors to the Competitor Managers
– Taking any on the night payments for competition entry (if applicable)
– Directing people where to go for any competitors’ meetings
– Fielding any questions about competitions and giving competitors the competition guidelines


What you’ll be doing:
– Assisting the Competition Managers with assembling competitors for their competitions
– Bringing on and off chairs for the judges
– Guiding competitors where necessary


What you’ll be doing:
– Refilling the water station
– Checking the water levels in the water cooler
This is a great task if you want to dance! During your hour of water duty you are free to dance and socialise as long as you keep an eye on the water levels. You must be able to carry large and heavy water bottles up and down stairs.


We are looking for volunteers who are friendly, approachable, happy to help, good at working in a team and with good time keeping skills. If helping with set up/tidy up you will need to be physically fit and able bodied enough to move chairs and tables.

In exchange for volunteering you will get free entry to London Throwdown as per the following opportunities:

Social Pass Volunteer: 5 hours of volunteering in exchange for a Social Pass. You will have unlimited entry to Friday, Saturday and Sunday parties including the Saturday Late Night. Your volunteer hours can be spread out over the socials and the daytimes Saturday and Sunday, at times between 5pm-3am in the evenings and 10.30am-6pm on the weekend.
Value: £45 Social Pass


We expect all volunteers to:
– Be on time for their hours
– Be presentable, friendly and helpful while volunteering
– Feedback to other volunteers and to the Event Managers if any information needs to be passed on
– Contact the Event Managers if any issues arise or if late/unavailable for scheduled hours
– Ask for help from Event Managers if necessary
– Enjoy dancing and watching competitions at the event when not volunteering!

Volunteers can expect us to:
– Send via email all volunteer hours in advance of the event
– Assist volunteers where needed
– Be contactable in person during the event or on phone/email in advance of the event
